BREWER — Josh Perry struck out nine to help lead Sebasticook Valley of the Newport area by Holbrook of Holden/Dedham 11-0 in a District 3 Senior League all-star baseball game Thursday night at Heddericg Field.
Cody Rice contributed a double and single for the winners and Josh Perry added two singles.
Nick Lakeman and Nate Smith each singled for Holbrook.

At Ellsworth, pitchers Will Colson and Percy Zentz combined for a two-hit shutout in leading Ellsworth by Coastal in the District 1 all-star tourney game.
Bradley Smith sparked Ellsworth with four singles and two RBIs while Jared Hamilton chipped in with two singles and four RBIs. Zentz added a double and RBI while Christian Bosse contributed a single and two RBIs and Sam Horne had a single and an RBI. Ethan Desjardins, Riley Grindle and Tanner Ashley each added a single.
Devin Grindle and Silas Bates each notched a single for Coastal.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Brewer/Orrington sent 11 batters to the plate in the fifth inning, scoring seven runs, to break open a two-run game in the District 3 Junior League all-star tourney.
Daniel Sprague sparked Brewer/Orrington with a triple, double, single and five RBIs. Zach Steiger chipped in with an RBI double and two singles while Marty Hewes added an RBI double and single. Braiden Umel contributed two singles and Josiah Cyr had an RBI double.
Nick Perfitt recorded four singles and two RBIs for Houlton.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Bronco-Hermon rallied from an 8-1 deficit with a seven-run fifth inning and added another run in the sixth and four in the seventh to earn the Junior League win over Bangor.
Keith Pomeroy sparked Bronco/Hermon (2-0) with three singles and two RBIs. Rece Poulin and Alex Applebee each added two singles and Nick Lorenzo had an RBI double. Wyatt Harriman earned the pitching win in relief, allowing no runs, a hit and a walk in two innings.
Tyrese Edwards, Nick Crichton and Kevin Fish each singled for Bangor (1-1). Bangor scored all eight of its runs despite being held hitless through the first three innings, capitalizing on nine walks and three errors.

Legion Baseball
Zone 1 all-star game Saturday night
An American Legion Zone 1 baseball all-star game will be held Saturday night at the Winkin Complex on the campus of Husson University in Bangor, according to zone commissioner Dave Paul.
The opening pitch for the nine-inning game will be at 7 p.m.
Representatives from the 10 Zone 1 teams will be divided into two 15-player squads with free substitution throughout the contest.
Zone 1 regular-season play then will conclude on Monday night with the Zone 1 tournament slated to begin Wednesday at Husson University with play-in games matching the 3-6 and 4-5 seeds at 4 and 7 p.m.
The four-team, double-elimination phase of the Zone 1 tournament follows Thursday through Saturday, July 25, with games at 4 and 7 p.m. each evening — and an if-necessary game scheduled for 7 p.m. on July 26.
The top two teams in the Zone 1 tournament will advance to the state tournament scheduled for July 29-Aug. 2 at the Wainwright Complex in South Portland.

At Husson University in Bangor on Wednesday night, four pitchers combined on a five-hitter as Trenton beat the Coffee News Comrades.
Tom Paola gave up three runs in five-plus innings and struck out seven, before Conor Maguire, Seth Young and Gage Feeney (save) finished out the game.
Joe Archambault sparked the Acadians (9-5) with three singles and an RBI and Hank Vinal singled twice with an RBI. Finn McMahon added two singles with Jake Keenan and Will Ricker each providing an RBI hit.
Andrew Hillier singled twice and drove in a run for Bangor (11-4). Sam Huston doubled and Peter Kemble knocked in a run.
