SOUTH PORTLAND – Catherine B. Lee, 95, of South Portland died on July 13, 2015 at South Portland Nursing Home where she had resided for the past several years. Catherine was born in Ashland, ME a daughter of Henry and Rose Theriault Beaulieu. She was educated in Ashland Schools.
Catherine moved to South Portland in 1953. She was a bookkeeper and worked at the Columbia Market at Pine Tree Shopping Center in the mid 1960s. She later worked at Porteous, Mitchell and Braun and Jordan Marsh from where she retired in 1984.
Catherine was a longtime communicant of Holy Cross Church. She was a member of the South Portland Senior Citizens Club. She especially enjoyed frequent lunches at McDonald’s and Sam DiPietro’s Sandwich Shop.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband Walter J. Lee; her siblings Jessie Beaulier, Amanda St. Peter, Phoebe Jenkins, Mabel Suchaski, Pauline Cash, Alfred Beaulieu, William Beaulieu, George Beaulieu, and John Beaulieu; and a great grandson, Timothy J.”TJ” Michaud. She is survived by her sons, Dana Michaud and wife, Maureen, of South Portland and Richard Michaud and wife, Sharon, of Scarborough; sisters, Shirley Bushey and Judith and her husband Al Carpentier, both of Florida; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim, Cindy, Pat, Darcy, Laurie and the entire staff of the South Portland Nursing Home for the love and kindness given to their mother during her stay with them.
Visiting hours were held at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland. Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00am at the Old Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Civic Center Dr., Augusta.
