ANAHEIM, California — The Boston Red Sox will play a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels starting at 5 p.m. Monday after their Sunday night baseball game was postponed due to rain.

It was the first time an Angels game has been postponed by rain in 20 years. The umpires waited more than 2 1/2 hours from the scheduled start time before officially calling the game at 10:30 p.m.

In Monday’s first game, the Red Sox will send rookie left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (5-2, 3.59 ERA) to the mound against Angels lefty Hector Santiago (6-4, 2.33).

Monday’s second game will begin at approximately 10 p.m.

The Angels won the first two games of the series, 1-0 Friday night and 3-0 Saturday night.
