PORTLAND, Maine — A giant water slide is reportedly no longer coming to Portland next weekend. “Slide the City” was scheduled to come to Franklin Street on August 1. It is a 1,000-foot-long water slide that takes up a huge part of the street.
A person with the company says event organizers told him they had trouble getting the necessary equipment to Maine, so they pushed the event back to next year.
The event had more than 12,000 people scheduled to attend.
