AUGUSTA, Maine — A man who sexually assaulted a little girl and recorded it with his cellphone will spend 50 years behind bars.
A judge announced the sentence early Friday evening for 25-year-old Eric Bard of Sidney. Bard pleaded guilty last year to 21 charges including sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor. The judge sentenced Bard to 30 years for gross sexual assault and 20 years for sexual exploitation of a minor.
In addition to a 50-year-prison sentence, the judge ordered that Bard be supervised for life after his release and register as a sex offender for life.
