WALDOBORO, Maine — Biddeford beat Westbrook 13-1 and Hall-Dale tipped Bangor West 3-2 in seven innings in the opening day of pool play in the Little League baseball state all-star tourney for ages 11-12 Saturday at the Clyde L. Sukeforth Field.
On Sunday, Westbrook held off Oceanside 11-9 and Bangor West beat Acadian of Bar Harbor 11-1.
In Saturday’s first game, Biddeford pitchers Matt Rouselle (winner) and Brady Wildes combined to hold Westbrook to three hits while walking just one and striking out five.
Tommy Gonneville Jr. sparked Biddeford with a home run and single while Cody Albert added a home run and Rouselle singled twice. Will Harriman added a double and Ashton Crowell singled twice.
Brady Desjardins, Brayden Demers and Matthew Eugley each recorded a single for Westbrook.
In Saturday’s second game, Hall-Dale rallied for a run in the bottom of the seventh to win the extra-inning contest. Pitchers Akira Warren, Logan Dupont and Lindsey Bell combined to hold Bangor West to four hits while walking just two and striking out 15.
Bell also sparked Hall-Dale with home run and a double. Warren chipped in with a double and single while Ian Stebbins and Logan Dupont each singled.
Wilson Higgins homered for Bangor West. Bradley McLaughlin, Bryce Lausier and Jeremiah Bourbon each added a single.
In Sunday’s first game, Brady Desjardins hit a home run and doubled while Kyle McKone recorded three singles to lead Westbrook to victory. Lucas Knapton and Brayden Demers each chipped in with two singles.
Aaron Benner sparked Oceanside with a triple and single. Obie Miller, Jonah Carlson and Nathaniel Barnard each added a single.
In Sunday’s second game, Carson Prouty recorded a complete-game win for Bangor West, allowing just three hits and four walks while striking out 11.
Rhett McDonald backed up his pitcher with a triple, single and double. Drew Dorr, Prouty and Isaac Bushway each added a double.
Brady Renault singled twice for Acadian and Logan Beckwith added a single.

State tourney, 10-11 all-stars
Medomak, Scarborough, Saco win
At Kedderis Field in Millinocket on Saturday, Medomak Valley posted a 13-12 comeback victory over Bangor West to open pool play in of the state tourney for ages 10-11.
Scarborough defeated Downeast Family YMCA of Ellsworth 22-1 in the second game and Saco shut out Lewiston 10-0 in the third game.
In tourney opener, Zach Winpenny scored the game-winning run on an error. WinPenny had tripled in Ian Doughty to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. Doughty started the rally with a leadoff single.
Medomak Valley was led by WinPenny, who had a double and a single to go with his triple. Doughty finished with three singles and Ethan Reed also had three singles. Isiah Staples chipped in with two singles and Jake Bickmore tripled. Garret Hutchins was the winning pitcher.
For Bangor West, Gavin Young and Joey Morrison each had a single and a double, Jonah Baude tripled and Cooper Ryan doubled.
In the second game, four Scarborough pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Nic Frink hit two, two-run home runs and singled to lead Scarborough. Peter O’Brien added a grand slam.
For Downeast Family YMCA, Mason Tupper tripled and Thadeus St. Peter singled.
In the day’s final game, three Saco pitchers combined on a one-hitter. Saco was led by Anthony Jones, who singled twice and tripled. John Rohner chipped in with a double and triple while Liam Robbins added a single and a double.
Abby Chartier singled for Lewiston’s lone hit.

At Kedderis Field in Millinocket on Sunday, Saco, Bangor West and Scarborough posted victories in the second day of the state tourney.
Saco defeated Downeast Family YMCA 18-2, Bangor West beat Lewiston 12-5 and Scarborough knocked off Medomak Valley 15-0.
Diego Alonso singled, doubled and tripled to lead Saco. Anthony Jones and John Rohner each singled three times, while Christian Schaffer singled and doubled.
Chase Crossman and Brody Mercier singled for Downeast Family YMCA of Ellsworth.
In the second game, Joey Morrison sparked Bangor West with a double and two singles. Jack Perron singled and doubled and Brady Hand tripled.
Abby Chartier and Ben Pelletier each singled for Lewiston.
In the day’s final game, Nic Frink and Ryan Gambardella combined to throw a four-inning two-hitter, striking out nine and walking just one.
Frink pitched the first three innings, allowing only one hit and striking out six. Gambardella pitched an inning allowing a hit, striking out three and not walking a batter.
Offensively, Scarborough was led by Frink, who singled and hit a two-run home run. Sam Clark doubled twice, Peter O’ Brien and Gambardella each singled twice and Jack Simonton tripled. Ethan Reed and Garret Hutchins both singled for Medomak Valley.
