LITCHFIELD, Maine — A 31-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after he failed to negotiate a curve on Plains Road, crashing his car into a tree.
Joshua Salois of China was headed west just before 2 p.m. Sunday when he apparently approached a bend in the road, lost control and tried to correct before his 2003 Toyota Camry left the road and crashed into a large tree, Maine State Police Trooper Chris Rogers said Monday.
Rogers said Salois was ejected from the vehicle and killed instantly. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Plains Road was closed for about three hours on Sunday after the crash.
Police await results of toxicology tests to determine whether alcohol was involved, according to Rogers.
