CRAWFORD, Maine — A Glenburn man is dead following a head-on collision on Route 9 in Crawford on Monday.

Dustin Cote, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release issued by the Washington County Sheriff’s office.

Cote was driving a 1999 Chevy Cavalier west toward Bangor at about 1:56 p.m. July 27. “It appears he crossed the centerline,” striking a tractor-trailer head on, the release states.

The 2001 Kenworth, which had an empty equipment trailer, was being driven by Stephen Gould, 69, of Princeton, the sheriff’s office said.

Gould and his passenger, Kyle Metcalf, 28, of Talmadge, were not injured.

Alexander first responders, Calais EMS and the Maine Warden Service assisted at the scene.
