Did you use a debit or credit card at Target in November or December of 2013? Did you have health insurance through Anthem prior to this year? Have you applied for a federal job in the past 15 years?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, your personal information may have been exposed to hackers.
That’s according to this cool calculator The New York Times built. It shows you how many times your data — like address, birthday, passwords and even social security number — have been at the mercy of cyber criminals.
The Times includes some tips on what to do if you think your data aren’t secure.
What can you do to prevent this from ever happening again?
Nothing, the Times says. But you can can take steps to minimize your risk, like turning engaging two-factor authorization on your email and banking accounts, or changing your passwords often. You also should not use the same password across multiple sites.
