OGUNQUIT, Maine — Actress Valerie Harper was taken to a Maine hospital Wednesday night before her evening performance in “Nice Work If You Can Get It” at the Ogunquit Playhouse.
The Playhouse issued a press release Thursday stating that Harper, 75, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, was taken to a local hospital Wednesday night after reporting that she was not feeling well.
“She is resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for observation for the time being,” the press release stated.
Harper has been performing in “Nice Work If You Can Get It” as Millicent Winter along with Sally Struthers as Duchess Estonia Dulworth.
“The audiences and all of us here at the Playhouse are greatly enjoying our time with Valerie here in Ogunquit, and we are encouraged that she is feeling better,” said Bradford T. Kenney, executive artistic director.
