PORTLAND, Maine — Traffic will be stopped along the Maine Turnpike in Litchfield starting Monday because of bridge construction, according to the Maine Turnpike Authority.

The 25-minute stoppages will occur Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday as a rain date, in both directions.

The stoppages, which will happen between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., are because of construction on the Lunts Hill Road bridge.

Motorists should be prepared for delays, and message boards will be in place to remind drivers.
