Benefit car wash
BREWER — Busy Bee Lawn Care, Advance Auto Parts and Advance Professional have joined forces to sponsor a Breast Cancer Awareness Car Wash at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at 1 Vista Way. The pink Breast Cancer Awareness Truck will be one site.
Get a car wash or car wax for a donation of $10, or both for a $20 donation. The fundraising goal for the event is $1,000. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition for its Support Service Fund.

HOLDEN — The board of directors of the Maine Development Foundation announced recently that Yellow Light Breen has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the organization. Breen is well-known and respected among Maine’s business and nonprofit communities as a strong and visionary leader. The Foundation supports economic, workforce, leadership and community development across Maine.
For the past 12 years, Breen has served as executive vice president and chief strategic officer at Bangor Savings Bank.
Breen will assume his new role on Aug. 10.
