CARIBOU, Maine — Severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms are expected to develop across western areas Monday afternoon and head east, according to the weather service’s Caribou forecast center.

The best chance of severe weather will be north and west of Bangor from 3 to 9 p.m., according to the weather service.

While not all storms will be severe, damaging wind gusts and large hail are not being ruled out.
