AKRON, Ohio — Mike Clevenger fired 6 ⅔ scoreless innings and Alex Lavisky delivered a three-run double in the second inning, leading the Akron RubberDucks to a 6-0 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in Eastern League baseball action on Friday night at Canal Park.
Clevenger (8-6) scattered three hits, no walks and fanned four to earn the win for Akron.
Lefty Danny Rosenbaum (0-4) suffered the loss for the Sea Dogs. Rosenbaum yielded four runs on five hits, five walks and one strikeout.
Lavisky gave Akron a 3-0 lead with a bases-clearing double with two outs in the second. In the fifth, Heri Quevedo relieved Rosenbaum and gave up a two-run single to Joe Sever (3-for-3). Akron’s final run game in the seventh on a run-scoring double by Bradley Zimmer.
Portland had just three hits off Clevenger.
Madison Younginer retired all four batters faced in relief for the Sea Dogs.
