Walk kick off event
BANGOR — Eastern Maine Walk to End Alzheimer’s walkers are encouraged to attend the team kick off event 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, in Pickering Square. Live music will be provided by The Rotating Taps and discounts at Blaze restaurant will be available to those registered in advance for the walk.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at Hollywood Casino Raceway at Bass Park.
Vice president, system clinical services
BREWER — EMHS president and CEO M. Michelle Hood announced recently that Jeff Doran has joined EMHS as the system’s first vice president of system clinical services.
Doran received a master’s degree in health services administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in health services administration from Providence College in Rhode Island.
Doran will assume his new role on Monday, Aug. 17.
Health center dentist
BUCKSPORT — Dr. Natalie Sigwart has joined Bucksport Regional Health Center. She earned a doctoral degree in dental surgery from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Towson University, Towson, Maryland.
She also attended the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore where she studied sculpture, drawing, life drawing, painting, portrait, watercolor and the technical skills of stretching and preparing canvases, grinding pigments, and casting.
She has volunteered for the Special Olympics Special Smiles program which offers free dental
screenings to participating Special Olympics athletes. She also has volunteered dentistry services to children in elementary school, to individuals with a substance abuse history and to residents at a women’s shelter.
Sigwart, a Dental Honor Society member, also has experience practicing in a community healthcare setting.
