SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A man who drowned Saturday off Pine Point Beach was identified Monday as Scott Ducott, 56, of Scarborough.
Police said dispatchers received an emergency call at approximately noon Saturday, Aug. 8, reporting that Ducott was swimming and had gone underwater near the jetty.
He was brought ashore on a long board by bystanders, according to the Police Department’s Facebook page, and was unresponsive. Officers on bike patrol administered CPR until rescue units arrived, and CPR was administered for a total of 45 minutes, but Ducott could not be revived, police said.
