FAIRFIELD, Maine — A Fairfield woman who went missing after a rafting trip on the Kennebec River has been found safely, according to the Maine Warden Service.

Erica LaChance, 29, had last been seen around 4:15 p.m. Sunday near Moxie Falls, according to a release from Corporal John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service.

MacDonald said later Monday LaChance was located alive, but did not provide any additional details.

After rafting with friends and relatives, the release said, LaChance and three other people walked to Moxie Falls. LaChance appears to have separated from the group at Moxie Falls.

Friends searched for her before calling the Maine Warden Service, who along with the Maine Association of Search and Rescue has been searching the area.

MacDonald said the warden service was expected to release additional details later Monday.
