LEBANON, Maine — Maine State Police say a Lebanon man took money and parts and agreed to fix a man’s two cars, but instead of doing the work, he allegedly took the vehicles to be crushed.
Investigators say the victim dropped off the two vehicles at Richard Dixon’s home.
The victim says he gave Dixon parts and payment, but when he learned Dixon had been arrested in an unrelated case, he became worried he wouldn’t get his vehicles back.
State police started to investigate and found the vehicles at an auto recycler in Rochester, New Hampshire.
The cars, worth more than $8,000, were apparently both crushed.
Dixon is now facing theft charges.
