MINOT, Maine — The Maine State Police are investigating the theft of street signs in the Androscoggin County town of Minot, state police officials said in a Facebook post.

“Taken over the weekend were the street name signs ‘Jackass Annie Road’ and ‘Goodwin Road,” police said. “Also taken was a stop sign and post from Jackass Annie Road.”

State police said the “Welcome to Minot” sign on Grange Avenue was stolen but has since been discovered in a ditch, severely damaged.

Police pegged the cost of replacing the signs at about $700. Anyone who has information about the sign thefts is asked to call Trooper Ricci Cote of Troop B at 1-800-228-0857.
