The clear skies above Acadia National Park make the area a great place for stargazing.

Check out this amazing time-lapse of the celestial views by Will Greene, who was a student at Mount Desert Island High School when he made this video. It includes shots from the Acadia Night Sky Festival in 2013 and 2014.

The seventh annual event, which lasts five days and six nights, is slated to start Sept. 9.

It features workshops, tours and speakers. Photographers can learn how to capture the night sky (see the related post for an example of some awesome night photography); Former astronaut Dan Barry will talk about how he tried for 14 years to join the space program before finally being accepted; and there’s even a painting workshop where you’re encouraged to drink wine.

Check here for information on times. A full description of the schedule is on the event’s website.
