NOBLEBORO, Maine — A Damariscotta woman who appeared to be suffering from fatigue drove into a ditch on East Pond Road in Nobleboro Wednesday, Aug. 26, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy said.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Deputy First Class Mark Bridgham, Lucille Crowley, 64, of Damariscotta, was driving a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser east on East Pond Road when she crossed the centerline and went into the westbound ditch.
The vehicle came to a stop when it hit a tree. Crowley appeared to be struggling with fatigue, according to Bridgham. He added that Crowley was wearing her seat belt and the airbags in the vehicle did not deploy.
Central Lincoln County Ambulance took Crowley to LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta as a precaution.
Bridgham said the vehicle sustained functional damage to the front end.
The Waldoboro Fire Department assisted with traffic control at the scene.
