BANGOR, Maine — A downtown business will get its moment in the limelight this fall.
Connie Boivin, owner of The Charles Inn, confirmed Wednesday that the episode of Travel Channel’s “Hotel Impossible” focusing on the Bangor business will broadcast for the first time Nov. 24.
She was not sure of the local broadcast time.
The show, which features hospitality consultant Anthony Melchiorri scouting troubled hotels to identify their problems, filmed at The Charles Inn in July.
Boivin said Wednesday she was not planning a viewing party at the hotel because her business does not currently receive Travel Channel.
She said she has no idea what will appear on the episode, as she was not present for all of the filming and is not sure what clips the show will use.
“We don’t know how they edit it to fit their story,” she said.
Fans of the show may anticipate at least some drama. Since the filming, Paul Beaulieu, who ran the hotel bar known as the Big Easy Lounge, has announced the bar was closing and that he had been ousted from the building as a result of the filming.
Boivin has disputed that the show caused the departure, saying that Beaulieu was planning to leave the location anyway and that the hotel bar is still open under a different name.
