BUXTON, Maine — Late-summer heat has forced some schools in southern Maine to end classes early on Wednesday.

According to a posting on SAD 6’s Facebook page, Bonny Eagle Middle and High schools in Buxton and Standish closed for the day at 11:30 a.m. and the district’s elementary schools at 12:30 p.m.

The post also stated after-school activities, such as sports practices, have been canceled.

In addition, SAD 60 in Berwick, Lebanon and North Berwick also dismissed students early, according to a report from CBS 13.
