FALMOUTH, Maine — The home of the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland has been put on the market, a spokesman confirmed on Wednesday.
“The bishop’s residence in Falmouth is being sold,” David Guthro said in response to an email Wednesday seeking confirmation of the sale.
“Nothing is finalized, but he hopes to reside in Portland,” Guthro said.
The asking price for the four-bedroom home of Bishop Robert Deeley is $659,000, according to an online real estate listing.
The 3,000-square-foot home on Twin Ponds Drive has been the home of the leader of Maine Catholics since former Bishop Richard Malone decided to purchase it to replace a larger mansion in Portland.
