WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency will be conducting tests of the system throughout Maine on Wednesday, according to a statement released Monday.
The testing will occur in all six New England states starting at approximately 2:20 p.m. and will last for one minute.
The voluntary testing will be heard over many radio, television and cable stations throughout Maine.
The testing is not expected to have a major impact, with only minor disruptions of radio or TV broadcasts expected.
