BRUNSWICK, Maine — A local man was arrested Sunday morning after a traffic stop on Interstate 295 turned up crack cocaine, according to a statement from state police.

Ronald Johnson, 32, had been pulled over for going 84 miles per hour in a 70-mph zone when Trooper Doug Cropper detected burnt marijuana inside the vehicle, the statement said.

Johnson did not posses a medical marijuana card, and the trooper subsequently searched the vehicle.

The search produced a bag that was later identified as 4.1 grams of crack cocaine.

Johnson was arrested and charged with trafficking a schedule W drug and taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
