SACO, Maine — A local man died Monday in an apparent accident while performing lawn maintenance, according to police.
Stephen Rice, 73, was found dead under a lawn tractor at the base of an embankment around 6 p.m., according to Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland.
According to family members, Rice left his Boom Road residence to perform work on another property around 3 p.m., and family members grew concerned when he did not return.
Holland said family members discovered the accident and called police. Preliminary investigative efforts show Rice’s death was an accident.
