WISCASSET, Maine — A Whitefield man who said he was a passenger in his truck when it crashed on Sunday, breaking his neck, called Wiscasset police on Thursday searching for the truck.
Bryan Tillson, 32, told police that he was a passenger in the truck at the time of the crash, which was not reported to police, according to a release from Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.
Police did not provide any information about the identity of the person driving the vehicle when it crashed.
Tillson said he was taken after the crash from his home in Whitefield by Delta Ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for treatment of a broken neck.
Tillson said he thought the 1990 red and black GMC 2500 pickup truck had been towed after the crash. However, the truck was located on its side about 200 feet into the woods across Route 1 from Norm’s Used Cars in Wiscasset, according to Cline.
According to Cline, Tillson is cooperating with an investigation into the crash, which police have determined occurred between 1 and 3 a.m. Sunday. The truck has been impounded during the investigation.
Cline did not immediately respond to an email seeking further information.
