XXX – Robert S. Stein, 86, was released into the arms of his Lord, on September 30, 2015, after a long, fruitful life. Robert was born on March 1, 1929, in New York City, the only child of Hyman H. Stein and Hannah Cohen, and graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1950. 
Bob served in the USAF as a Captain in the Auditor General Group from 1951 to 1953 and graduated from USC with a B.E. in Industrial Engineering in 1955. From 1955 through 1967, he was employed by North American Aviation, Sperry Rand Corp., Singer Co., and GE in the areas of Information Systems and Product Planning. Bob met his wife, Alice Niebur, while working at North American Aviation, in Los Angeles, CA. They were wed On April 27, 1957 and enjoyed 57 years together. In 1967 he founded a company with a group of other engineers and served as finance and operations officer and in 1975 he became a California CPA. In 1981, Bob and Alice pulled up their stakes in Sacramento and moved to Maine where they purchased and operated the Greenville Inn near Moosehead Lake before retiring to Belfast, ME and then moving to Northport, ME. Bob was active in the community, being a long time member of the Belfast Curling Club, the Lions Club and the Northport Library. Throughout his life, he had a passion for sports and loved to curl and golf. Bob and Alice enjoyed renovating old houses, restoring charm and character to many Victorian homes. More recently, as their health declined, they left Maine and moved to Maineville, OH to be near their eldest daughter.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alice. Bob is survived by his daughters, Lu Ann (David) Kanavy of Morrow, Ohio, and Sue Ellen (David) White of Elizabeth, CO. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Anna (Ben) Roberts, Rebecca Durnell, Daniel (Katharine) White, Elizabeth (Alvin) Jeffers and Sarah Kanavy; and four great-grandchildren.
