RANGELEY, Maine — A 15-year-old girl who had been missing from her Warren County, Pennsylvania, home since late September was found in Rangeley on Wednesday and her boyfriend arrested, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Reaghan Chase had been missing since Sept. 29 when she left her home with Kyle Bedow, 18, according to Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols.

Bedow had been wanted on charges of interference with the custody of a child and third-degree concealment of the whereabouts of a child, both felonies, according to Nichols.

The series of events leading to the pair’s discovery began when a local insurance agent, Charles Brad Stokes, spoke with his wife, who works at an Oquossoc restaurant, about them both having made contact with Chase and Bedow earlier this week.

A Web search revealed news articles out of Pennsylvania reporting that the girl had been missing and she had been in Bedow’s company, Nichols said.

Stokes subsequently called the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and dispatchers confirmed Bedow’s Keystone State warrants were active and Bedow’s car was parked at an Oquossoc garage, Nichols said.

A police bulletin was put out once dispatchers determined what type of rental vehicle the pair were in, and Deputy Sandy Burke found the vehicle on Main Street in Rangeley.

After a traffic stop, Bedow was placed under arrest and Chase was taken into protective custody.

Nichols praised the Stokes’ efforts and coordination between dispatchers and Burke for ending the ordeal. Maine State Police are assisting in the investigation as the aforementioned crimes Bedow is accused of involve crossing state lines.

Bedow is being held at the Franklin County Jail and additional charges from Maine authorities are pending.
