ELLSWORTH, Maine — Multiple injuries were reported Tuesday in a collision on Route 1A in Ellsworth, according to police.

Benjamin Turner, 24, was traveling north when he apparently veered into the southbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by Robert Daigle, 41, according to Ellsworth police Lt. Harold Page.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Route 180, according to Page.

Daigle’s vehicle was carrying two passengers, Tamarah Closson, 29, and a 10-year-old girl, according to Page. The hometowns of the occupants were not available.

Turner and Daigle’s passengers were transported to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, the lieutenant said. The crash remains under investigation.
