ALFRED, Maine — State police arrested an Alfred man who reportedly fired a weapon fire inside his home.

The alleged incident happened just after 7 p.m. Monday at 280 Sanford Road in Alfred. Police said Thomas Prioa, 40, was firing a weapon inside and outside the home. A juvenile who lived in the home called police. She was able to get out of the house and met troopers who took her to a safe area.

A short time later, police said Prioa was causing a disturbance at a nearby home. Officers responded and said Prioa was acting aggressively and refused to comply with police. A York County sheriff’s deputy used a Taser, and Prioa was taken into custody.

Police did not disclose what type of weapon allegedly was used in this incident. Charges are pending, and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is assisting in the case.
