WASHINGTON — Republican U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan plans to move ahead with his bid to be House speaker, Politico reported Thursday, citing sources close to the Wisconsin lawmaker.
Ryan had said he was open to seeking the leadership post if he had support from a majority of his party, among other conditions. He gained backing from a key group of Republicans late Wednesday.
