AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Department of Transportation is changing its park and ride policies, spokesman Ted Talbot announced Tuesday.

The rule changes at park and ride lots throughout the state will go into effect Nov. 1, Talbot said.

Changes include prohibiting trailers or any vehicles longer than 24 feet from parking in park and ride lots. Parking for more than seven days also is prohibited, and between Nov. 1 and April 30, vehicles cannot stay in a lot for more than 24 hours because of potential of snow removal.
