LEWISTON, Maine — Three people were taken into custody and a gun was seized after a shooting was reported at a Lewiston McDonald’s.
Witnesses say the incident occurred Thursday afternoon on Lisbon Street and a bullet hit a van in the drive-thru.
Police had the area taped off where witnesses told WGME that three men had gotten into a fight that ended when one apparently fired a gun.
Witnesses say the bullet ended up hitting the tire of a minivan that was going through the drive-thru. They say after the gun was fired, two men got into a silver Saab and took off, while a third man was seen walking away on foot.
The woman driving the minivan told WGME that she had her young daughter in the car, and coincidentally, her son was in the car in front of her.
Police confirmed they have detained two men and a woman and are still looking for a third man.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, with short brown hair, wearing a white T-shirt, last seen walking down Lisbon Street.
Police urged anyone with information to give them a call.
