OLD TOWN — The Old Town Recreation Center has partnered with former collegiate baseball coach Dean Husted to offer a pitching clinic. Husted has worked with more than 50 players who have been drafted to play Major League Baseball including most recently Charlie Morton of the Pittsburgh Pirates.The pitching clinic will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 8-Dec. 20, Old Town Recreation Center. BASKETBALL

BANGOR — The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its 2015-2016 Youth Basketball Program. This eight-week program is open to all children in grades two-three and four-six, with separate boys and girls leagues. Teams will practice one evening per week and play their games on Saturdays, starting the week of Dec. 19 with a meet and greet on Dec. 5. The fee for this program is $35 for residents and $45 for non-residents. Add $10 late fee after Nov. 30. ORONO — The Maine Junior Black Bears will host Try Hockey for Free at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Alfond Arena at the University of Maine.

ORONO — Registration for all Maine Junior Black Bears youth hockey house divisions is now open. Programs are available for ages 4-18 and include Learn to Skate/Learn to Play in partnership with the University of Maine Hockey teams. Other age groups are Midgets, Bantams, Peewees, Squirts, and Mites. All teams are co-ed and girls can cross-roster for U-12 all-girls team. BREWER — Bangor American Legion’s 3K Fun Run for Our Vets will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, beginning from Brewer Auditorium and ending in downtown Bangor. SKIING

CAMDEN — The Camden Hills Regional High School Ski Team ski sale will be held Nov. 20-22, at Camden Hills Regional High School, 25 Keelson Drive. Items may include Nordic or Alpine skis, boots, poles, snowboards, skates, helmets, car carriers and more. To sell used equipment, pre-register it online at https://sites.google.com/site/chrhsskisale. Then, bring the items to the school 3-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and set the price. The ski team keeps 25 percent. Prices may be lowered on Sunday. Between noon and 1 p.m. Sunday, pick up a check for 75 percent of what was sold and take home any items that didn’t sell.
