ROCKLAND, Maine — A Warren man hopes to have his automobile dealership open on Main Street by the end of the month.

Renovations were being made to the building at 734 Main St. that will soon be the home of Cars. A new garage door was being installed Thursday.

Business owner Thomas Hargrove said he will be selling used cars of all makes and models. He also will be doing repairs and be an inspection station for both cars and motorcycles.

He has two employees but said that number could increase. He said he selected the Main Street location because it has more traffic and visibility.

Hargrove has another Cars dealership in Union.

The location has been home to a variety of businesses over the years including Dow Mattress, a hardware store, and as late as the early 1990s, Downeast Tire and Auto Service.

The property is owned by the Everett Spear II Revocable Trust.
