BUXTON, Maine — A Bonny Eagle High School student was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Buxton, according to officials.

The crash occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Turkey Road, according to a statement from Buxton police.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene while the other three were brought to an area hospital with “significant injuries,” the statement read.

According to a statement from Maine School Administrative District 6 Superintendent Frank Sherburne, a crisis team has been made available to comfort students and staff. The other three victims are believed to be students as well.

“Our thoughts and concerns are for the students and their families,” Sherburne said.

Police did not disclose names of the victims as next of kin have not been notified.
