It’s going to take a collapse of monumental proportions for Ernie Clark to not successfully defend his staff title in the 50th edition of the Bangor Daily News Football Forecast.

Clark is gunning for his seventh staff crown after winning the title a year ago. He went 15-5 last week and holds a five-game advantage over Larry Mahoney, whose 16-4 card pushed up into second place.

Ryan McLaughlin slipped into third with a 13-7 effort that leaves him six games behind Clark.

Guest Troy Gardner helped continue the weekly guests’ success with his 14-6 performance.

This week’s guest is Jim Churchill, the owner of Deane’s Detailing in Bangor.

Churchill is a 1980 graduate of Brewer High School, where he played basketball. He also graduated from the University of Maine.

Churchill is the voice of University of Maine baseball for the Black Bear Sports Network and co-hosts “The Drive” afternoon talk show on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.

He resides in Hampden with his wife Margaret.
