SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — The South Berwick Fire Department saved a kitten that had been stuck up a tree since Saturday.
The department said Ladder 2 was out for training Sunday morning when a concerned pet owner called to say her kitten, named Jerry, was stuck 35 feet up a tree.
Firefighter Tom Fallon used the ground ladder to reach Jerry. He snagged the feline despite sharp claws and shifting winds.
Fallon and the kitten made it down safely.
