FARMINGTON, Maine — Sandy River Farm Market of Farmington is recalling whole milk out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of its customers.

The recall is based on routine product testing at the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry that determined the product did not achieve proper pasteurization during processing and could have allowed pathogens to survive in the product. No illnesses have been reported, and the processor is cooperating with the recall.

The recalled milk was sold in sizes of pints, half gallons and gallons, with a code of 11-14 on the cap. The milk was sold to retail customers from the Sandy River Farm Market and at Trantens on Main Street in Farmington.

Consumers with questions should contact Erik Johnson at 207-778-9448. Consumers are urged to discard, or return to point of purchase, any remaining product with the code of 11- 14.
