ARUNDEL, Maine — A local man prohibited by bail conditions from not having contact with a woman in a prior domestic assault was arrested when the woman was found at his residence Thursday night, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were conducting a bail check on Jack Coffee, 56, when the female was discovered at the residence, according to Sheriff William King.

Once outside the residence, Coffee fled from the deputies, refusing several orders to stop, King said.

Deputies eventually caught up, but Coffee kept resisting, forcing deputies to use a Taser to subdue him, the sheriff said.

Coffee was charged with a Class C felony count of violating conditions of release and failing to submit to arrest, a misdemeanor.
