AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Warden Service has charged four individuals, including a pair of juveniles, in connection with the illegal killing of at least four deer last spring in the Livermore Falls area, Cpl. John MacDonald announced Wednesday.

Zachary Black, 19, of Jay, Kyle Elliott, 19, of Fayette and two juveniles from Livermore are all facing night hunting charges, according to MacDonald, who did not disclose the juveniles’ names.

All four deer were does and were believed to have been killed in open fields and left to waste, according to MacDonald.

Numerous night surveillance details were executed by game wardens, which led them to the four suspects, MacDonald said.

Game wardens were assisted by state police. All four individuals are scheduled to appear in court in February.
