BATH, Maine — A Bath woman accused of setting her boyfriend’s truck on fire in 2014 was found not guilty Friday by a Sagadahoc County jury.

Lisa Green, 49, was charged by the state fire marshal’s office and indicted in April 2014 on two counts of Class A arson and one count of Class C aggravated criminal mischief for the Jan. 4, 2014, fire that destroyed the truck.

According to court documents, a key witness reported seeing Green near the truck before it caught fire. But Green’s attorney, Christopher Ledwick, argued, among other points, that investigators should have considered another suspect who had indicated a motive for damaging the vehicle.

On Tuesday, Ledwick praised the “exceptionally attentive jury” who found Green not guilty of the charges.

“Although we were always confident that a jury would find that she was innocent of the charges, the stress of a trial is never a pleasant experience,” Ledwick said. “She waited nearly two years to have her name cleared and is grateful to the jury for returning a verdict that fully exonerates her and allows her to enjoy her life and the company of her children and grandchildren. “

Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Liberman, who prosecuted the case, had no comment on Monday.
