VINALHAVEN, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home burglary in which jewelry was stolen.
The burglary was reported by the homeowner after she returned home from work shortly before noon Thursday.
The Chestnut Street home had been locked. Police did not indicate how the burglar got in.
The homeowner reported that earrings, including a crystal-diamond studded pair, were stolen. The value of the items was less than $1,000.
