BREWER, Maine — A suspected meth lab was discovered at a Wilson Street apartment house, according to the Department of Public Safety. It is the 50th in the state in 2015.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said the six-unit building was damaged by fire Monday night, and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s lab response team was expected to start processing the inside of the building about noon Tuesday.
Brewer Deputy Police Chief Jason Moffitt said city officials went to the building at 8:25 p.m. Monday when a fire alarm was going off, and units quickly recognized what appeared to be evidence of meth manufacturing.
Nobody was injured in the fire, and the state fire marshal’s office is sending investigators.
Nobody has been charged.
