AUGUSTA, Maine — A man was found dead inside a Washington Street apartment Monday night and police are investigating the death as a homicide.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Damik Davis, 25, of New York has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death.
The name and age of the deceased man are being withheld and an autopsy has been scheduled, McCausland said.
Augusta police went to the fourth-floor apartment around 8 p.m. Monday after receiving a report of a disturbance. Davis was found a short time later and taken into custody.
McCausland said later that police are looking to speak to two occupants of the apartment for questioning “and to check on their well-being.”
Zina Fritze, 27, and Sean McQuade, 45, are sought for questioning. McQuade is Fritze’s boyfriend.
Fritze is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, and now has brown hair, while McQuade stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs 150 pounds and has light brown hair.
