BANGOR, Maine — Police arrested a local man on Thursday in connection with a stabbing on Hammond Street that left a male relative with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Moffatt Bennett, 22, of Bangor was charged with aggravated assault, a class B crime. He was being held without bail at Penobscot County Jail, a jail supervisor said.
Bennett was arrested after police were dispatched to a Hammond Street address at about 6:15 a.m. where they found the victim, whom police described as a man in his 50s who had suffered several stab wounds.
The victim was treated and released from Eastern Maine Medical Center of Bangor. He is a member of Bennett’s family, police said.
Bennett is due at the Penobscot Judicial Center on Monday. More information about the incident will be released at that time, police said.
