WATERVILLE, Maine — State police are investigating a slew of grass fires along the southbound lanes of Interstate 95.
Six fires in a 10-mile stretch between Waterville and Sidney have been reported, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.
Troopers are seeking the public’s help in identifying a newer model white sedan that may have pulled over. Officials are seeking two men.
The vehicle would accelerate at a high rate of speed traveling south after allegedly pulling over. The fires were extinguished by Waterville and Sidney firefighters.
Anyone with information is urged to call Trooper John Lacoste at 624-7076.
