CAMDEN, Maine — A 59-year-old Camden man is behind bars after police said he sexually assaulted a woman over the weekend.
Richard J. Harrington was arrested Sunday night and charged by Camden police with domestic violence assault and unlawful sexual touching.
He was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland. Harrington made an initial appearance Monday in Knox County Unified Court in Rockland, where Judge Susan Sparaco set bail at $500 cash for the two misdemeanors.
In an affidavit filed in court, Camden police said the woman reported that Harrington became upset after the New England Patriots lost a football game Sunday and began arguing with the victim. She said Harrington then sexually assaulted her by grabbing her breasts.
